Virtual Rio Frio
On this page, you will find lots of virtual content to introduce you to the many sites and artifacts studied and recorded by the Rio Frio Regional Archaeological Project. You can view these from you computer or a mobile device. Most of the content has also been correctly scaled and is viewable on a VR headset for a more immersive experience.
Virtual walkthrough of the Rio Frio Caves
To start this self-guided tour through the caves, select either sound or no sound. Click and hold anywhere on the screen and move your mouse around to look around. The green targets indicate the next tour stop. Hover over them for a preview of what comes next and click on them to move there. Simply hovering over a target will move it out of the way to the top left corner of the screen. It will return to its proper location when looking around. The menu in the bottom right corner includes options to turn sound on and off, enter full screen, and opening a visual menu of all tour spots.
If viewing this tour on a mobile device, stand in one spot and move your device around, using the screen as a “window” into the scene.
